NEW AGE MELODIC.
Often people have asked me what kind of music I write. When I have said "New Age", they tend to want me to be more specific -- electronic? piano? meditation/mood music?
I usually have offered the explanation that I try to write music that has a strong melody -- something they may remember, much like a song on the radio that they hum or sing to themselves after hearing it.
This of course is not to say that any one category of New Age music is better than another. Not by any means. Every listener has his or her own preferences. This is just the style that seems to come most naturally for me. I know that there are many incredibly talented artists who write in a similar manner. I am honored to be compared to them.
I've been deeply influenced by popular music throughout my life (especially rock, pop, ballads, dance, urban) as well as the works of the classical masters and other New Age artists. New Age Melodic is the style that has evolved from a fusion of these many influences with the emotions I have when I sit down at the piano.
